Another innovation in surge suppressors
28 January 2025Evren Yurttaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yurttaş Holding, spoke about innovation, which has an important place in the company policies of recent periods.
Yurttaş explained that innovation can be called facilitation if a Turkish equivalent of innovation is desired, “The reason is that the main purpose of innovation is to develop a business or product to facilitate an existing problem. In other words, although it has been on our agenda as a trend for the past few years, it is undeniable that it has been around since the beginning of the world. In my opinion, the biggest innovation is the wheel. Perhaps the discovery of fire much earlier changed many things in the history of mankind, but the wheel system can be considered a turning point in expressing speed in modern life. The wheel is a very simple example of innovation and R&D, terms so popular with the younger generation as they tend to be equated with making a lot of money fast. The word innovation is actually a perfect fit for this very job. R&D and innovation are done to make an existing problem easier, and the wheel is a complete innovation, even if it seems very simple after it is made, after it is thought of”.
Innovation; facilitation
Evren Yurttaş explained that innovation and R&D are not only about producing chips, saying, “As an R&D engineer who received the “The Inventor of Bursa” award, I also pass this on to my young friends. I look at all my university student friends and I see that almost all of them want to be R&D engineers. However, I want them to understand that in the Industry 4.0 system, where robots talk and people don’t exist, they don’t need him and they can only change the parts of these products. For years, I have seen engineers who do not do anything despise and criticize those of us engineers who actually do the R&D and innovation. Their criticisms were as follows; “There are 10-15 TL circuit elements in the product produced, you can make it yourself at home” I struggled with people who were unaware of the fact that they actually put themselves in a very troublesome situation. However, in terms of physical cost, the operating system of the computer he sat in front of every day was less than the cost of a CD. OK, was it free to write, maintain, and market that operating system? If we translate the meaning of innovation and R&D into Turkish and understand it as making things easier, then we will really be able to produce, we will not be embarrassed by what we produce, and the products that we will not be embarrassed by will maybe one day make people’s lives easier and make us billionaires”.
