Is there a savings device under the TRIMBOX brand?
No savings device or similar equipment has ever been produced under the Trimbox brand. Under the Trimbox brand, nearly 1000 different types of products are manufactured in the categories of Overvoltage Suppressors, AC and DC Surge Arresters, and Neutral-Ground Regulators.
Does TRIMBOX have a patent?
In addition to its trademark registration, Trimbox is the world's only manufacturer in its field with 3 patents in the Overvoltage Suppressor and Neutral-Ground Regulator classes.
Does Trimbox produce surge arresters (SPD)?
Trimbox is the first surge arrester manufacturer with a domestic goods certificate, holding an 87.87% local production rate. It produces all AC classes (B, C, D, B+C, C+D, B+C+D) from 110VAC to 1000VAC and all DC classes including PV from 12VDC to 1500VDC.
Don't regulators or uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) do the same job as overvoltage suppressors?
While their application areas differ, their goals are similar. However, there are significant functional differences: Regulators contain a variac system, which can be thought of as an intelligent single-winding transformer; they increase voltage when low and decrease it when high. However, regulators cannot prevent severe impacts such as lightning or transformer explosions and can be damaged themselves. They also have no chance to intervene in sudden voltage spikes called 'peaks' that occur in microseconds. Although a UPS has a much more advanced structure than a regulator, it also needs protection for the reasons mentioned above. You can protect these devices with overvoltage suppressors.
What is the difference between a Surge Arrester (SPD) and an Overvoltage Suppressor?
Trimbox is the only company producing in both fields. In this sense, we can say that overvoltage suppressors were developed to cover the shortcomings of surge arresters. In surge arrester applications, the need for very good grounding often cannot be met in practice. In such cases, overvoltage suppressors come to the rescue by offering protection even if there is no grounding at all. Additionally, while surge arresters do not offer protection in cases such as a neutral break, overvoltage suppressors can provide protection in such situations.
How does an overvoltage suppressor work?
While the only technology offered globally for microsecond-level instantaneous voltage spikes was stepped surge arrester applications, it was sometimes impossible to prevent damage caused by phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral voltage increases while grounding resistance conducted between phase and ground. Trimbox closed these gaps with the TRVaristor element—a patented, improved model of the varistor that can also be used between phases and provides protection even without grounding—creating a significant difference in global protection functions.
Are Trimbox products included in the unit price list of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization?
Trimbox produces all products described in the surge arrester classes and continues production as the only brand providing neutral protection.

Does the Trimbox brand have tests in accredited laboratories regarding lightning and overvoltage?
Trimbox established the test systematic at METU (ODTÜ) in collaboration with TSE to provide testing facilities for surge arresters and overvoltage suppressors in Turkey. Furthermore, the first TSE certificate for products above standards was awarded to Trimbox with reference number TSE-BDS-0001-1 and certified by TSE in 2014.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

Do triphase products have to be installed at the output of a three-phase group fuse?
Triphase products must be properly connected to the output of a three-phase group fuse, a three-phase residual current device (RCD), or a three-phase thermal-magnetic compact circuit breaker. Otherwise, it will be considered a connection error.
The Overvoltage Suppressor or Surge Arrester constantly trips the residual current device (RCD). What is the problem?
This problem is frequently encountered with 30mA life protection threshold RCDs. The easiest solution is to take the phases from the input of the RCD and the neutral line from the output of the RCD when connecting the overvoltage suppressor or surge arrester. The reason we take the neutral from the output is to allow the RCD to trip in case of a neutral break, providing unlimited protection capability.
What does an overvoltage suppressor or surge arrester do if phase-phase is supplied instead of phase-neutral?
Overvoltage suppressors will trip the RCD if present; otherwise, they will trip the fuse they are connected to. During this process, if an RCD is present, it protects the devices in the system without being damaged itself. If there is no RCD, it protects the devices by tripping the fuse, though it may sustain damage itself. Surge arresters do not have a protection function for such errors.
Do overvoltage suppressors or surge arresters offer a solution against low voltage?
Neither technology has the ability to normalize low voltage. Suitable regulator technology should be used for such situations. However, if low voltage at a site is explained by an insufficient transformer, overvoltage suppressors can prevent the damage caused by such fluctuations, including protecting the regulator itself.
Why is an overvoltage suppressor installed on every machine in factories?
In factories, besides external factors like lightning and transformer explosions, sudden voltage spikes caused by machines operating within the facility also pose a major problem. Since industrial machines create large electromagnetic fields, their induction is also high. This leads to massive voltage surges during startup (inrush currents) and electrical switching. These surges frequently cause electronic board failures in machines. Therefore, it is appropriate to use a separate overvoltage suppressor for each machine in industrial types.
How many surge arresters or overvoltage suppressors should I use?
In residences, it is sufficient to use one overvoltage suppressor per apartment depending on whether it is single-phase or three-phase. Additionally, installing a B+C 100kA surge arrester at the main electrical entrance of apartment buildings to protect common areas is appropriate according to regulations. In offices, one overvoltage suppressor at the main electrical entrance is sufficient (except for special cases). In factories, one overvoltage suppressor should be used for each machine. Additionally, installing a B+C 100kA surge arrester at the main electrical entrance of factories is appropriate per regulations.
Is additional equipment required when using surge arresters or overvoltage suppressors in panels without residual current protection switches?
In surge arrester applications, it may be necessary to use an appropriately rated circuit breaker between the main switch and the surge arrester for technologies like Class B and B+C, according to catalog values. Overvoltage suppressors do not require a circuit breaker up to 1000A; they can be connected in parallel to the main switch using 2.5mm multi-strand cable.

GND SERIES

What is GNDSeries?
In general, GNDSeries is a model of the Trimbox brand designed to regulate the potential difference between neutral and ground, preventing damage to sensitive electronic devices and electronic boards. While performing this task, it also prevents image distortions on monitor screens (including projectors), which are generally considered interference originating from the ground line.
Can we visually see the effects of GNDSeries?
You can easily and immediately see with an avometer that the neutral-ground voltage improves to the preferred ratio. You can also clearly see that the interference on your monitor or projector reflection caused by the ground line is cleared after the product installation.
We perform separate grounding for medical devices due to interference on their screens. Will this not be necessary when using this product?
You will not need to perform additional grounding. If this problem is caused by the ground line, GNDSeries will provide a 100% solution.
Isn't neutral-ground voltage already stabilized by products like power supplies or regulators?
Unfortunately, no. The places where this problem is most prevalent are generally systems where power supplies or regulators are used because their sensitivity is emphasized.
We experience serious ground-related failures in scales; will this be a solution?
If you are experiencing a problem caused by neutral-ground voltage or noise on the ground line, it will be a solution.
We cannot complete installations in our laboratories due to neutral-ground issues; will this product solve our problem without having to do new grounding?
These types of problems can continue in many places where new grounding is done. You can solve your problem by choosing the appropriate GNDSeries model.
Can GNDSeries products also be considered to prevent errors in calibration and test measurements?
If such errors are caused by various noises on the grounding, it will certainly help you obtain clearer data.
Do unbalanced loads affect neutral-ground voltage? How does GNDSeries solve such a problem?
It can be counted as one of the effects. The more the power drawn from the R, S, T phases on your line differs, the more your neutral-ground voltage stability will deteriorate. GNDSeries provides a solution regardless of the cause of the increase in neutral-ground voltage.
Does it cause neutral-ground voltage to increase if a metro line etc. passes near our grounding site? Is GNDSeries a solution?
It is possible; DC leakages from these systems can create neutral-ground voltage. GNDSeries provides a solution regardless of the cause of the increase in neutral-ground voltage.
Does it cause neutral-ground voltage to increase if power cables pass near our grounding cable? Can we limit this increase with GNDSeries?
It is possible; it is better the further our protection conductor is from high-current systems. GNDSeries performs a voltage drop for such neutral-ground voltage increases according to the ratio of the model you have selected.
Is GNDSeries a product that additionally provides ground protection (interference, etc.) to a standard surge arrester or overvoltage suppressor? Or does it only provide ground protection on its own?
While additionally offering overvoltage suppression and surge arrester capabilities, it prevents interference coming from the grounding and minimizes the risk of electric shock by preventing voltage formation on metal bodies where there is no grounding. So, it actually serves both purposes. However, as an engineering and R&D company, we naturally prefer the grounding to be properly structured.
